Attendees: KK, Elbert, Rajee, Nishanth, Abhijeet, Deepak
1. Summer fundraising events: Our summer fundraising coordinator Elbert who is doing an excellent job in generating funds and kudos from the patrons, updated the group about various ongoing fundraising events. The upcoming events include house painting on July 14th, gardening (weekends), and lawn mowing (weekends).
Sankalp has been presented with another fundraising opportunity in the form of providing help during the food fair in Des Moines taking place on 29th and 30th June and July 1st. Interested members who want to volunteer can contact Elbert at elbertj@gmail.com
2. CC coordinator Update: A cc drive is expected to take place in the coming weekend.
3. Iowa Speedway volunteering: We are seeking volunteers for this fundraising event.
This is a Car racing event on June 24th in Newton, Iowa, roughly 65 miles from Ames. The organizers are expecting a turnout of around 47,000 spectators. The race starts at noon and continues until 8pm. What the organizers want from us is help them staffing the parking lots. We will need volunteers as supervisory individuals and parking lot attendants. Once the race starts at noon, most volunteers may be free to watch the race. Considering ticket prices ranging up to $75.00, this could be quite an opportunity for folks who are interested in car racings.
The volunteering involves a time commitment from roughly 8am to possibly 8pm. Most likely we will not have to stay until 8pm but that is the upper limit. To and fro transportation will be arranged by Sankalp. Also, both lunch and dinner will be provided. Interested folks can contact me at ddibya@iastate.edu or 515-708-0332.

3. Navdrusti: Second year funding of the project Deepak presented the progress report of the project and also the questions answers that were sommunicated with the NGO. There was a discussion on the progress report and whether or not Sankalp should provide the second installment for the project. The group evaluated the report and finally a vote was taken. All the 9 attendees voted in favor of funding the second installment. However, the group felt that having inputs and possibly votes (for or against) from more members will be beneficial to the process of project funding. To ensure that all our hard earned money goes into the appropriate hands, kindly take a look at the progress report and let me know your comments. You can be as terse as saying yes/no or abstain from this voting
